How It Works
Six stages, one artisan per piece, and a draft photo you have to approve before anything is finished. Here is exactly what happens after you order.
Submit your photos
Four to six daylight photos taken at your pet's eye level. Face-on, both profiles, full body, and a close-up of anything unusual. Upload them at checkout or email them with your order number.
We review and ask questions
An artisan checks whether the photos give us what we need. If they do not, we ask specific questions — coat shade, eye colour, how the fur sat on the chest. Your memory beats a bad photograph.
Colour matching
We blend undyed New Zealand wool until it matches your pet's actual coat. Most animals need three to five blended shades; tabbies and merles can need a dozen.
Sculpting and felting
Core wool first for structure, then the coat felted on in the direction the fur actually grows. This is the longest stage — between two and six weeks depending on the piece.
Draft photo approval
Before the final details go in, we photograph the piece and send it to you. Adjustments here are free and unlimited within reason. About one order in ten comes back with a correction.
Final payment and shipping
We send photos from every angle, you pay the remaining 50% through PayPal, and the piece is packed in tissue and a rigid box with tracked worldwide shipping.
Typical timelines
- Ornaments, hoops, pendants
- 3–4 weeks
- Framed portraits
- 4–6 weeks
- Full body replicas
- 6–8 weeks
Timelines start when you approve the draft photo, not when you order. If a date matters — a birthday, a memorial, a family visit — tell us and we will say honestly whether we can make it.
